Google SNEAK ATTACK
This is a really good short term fix for both testing a market’s viability (and making a buck or two) …all while getting around the dreaded Google Slap.
My friend Ryan Deiss (who occasionally teaches Marketing, but mainly cleans up in the Forex and Weight Loss markets) made this video specifically for my subscribers. He’s got an EXCELLENT program coming up that is for NEWBIES ONLY where he walks you through every step of making your first $1,000. You can check that out here. Actually, if you’re a newbie …you should definitely check it out.

Unfortunately, Ryan is wrong.
Have a slapped website?
Enter that slapped webpage URL, and click “Get Keyword Ideas”. Google comes up with relevant keywords.
Start a new AdWords campaign for that webpage, enter the keywords.
Still slapped? Yes.
You can do this with lots of websites, and some will be ok, and some will be slapped.
The AdWords Keyword Tool gives you relevant keywords, but won´t tell you if those keywords will be inactive or not once you add them to a campaign.
Saying that using the AdWords Keyword Tool like Ryan did, is a way of “getting around the dreaded Google Slap” is unfortunately just “marketing talk”.

This is a really interesting tool because I figure you can turn the strategy inside out and still make it work for you. This is what I mean.
If you’re an Internet Marketer it makes sense to find a hungry market, find some products for it and then use the Google Adwords keyword tool as suggested.
But supposing you’re someone with a primary business, and business web site looking to either increase your traffic via Adwords, or sell related affiliate products from your web site, or both.
Now you simply run the Adwords Tool for your own site and Google will tell you what your web site is all about, and believe me many people think they know what their site is about but they don’t.
Voila, a list of your won keywords, keywords to search on at Clickbank and similar sites for related products to promote, and instant confirmation about your web site content and its positioning in the market place.
Brilliant,
BRAY

Useful tip. I thought everyone knew this. However I disagree that this method will necessarily give you keywords that actually produce sales. Just because the Google tool returns relevant keywords doesn’t mean they will be keywords that are action conducive or buyer keywords. This tool has also returned rubbish when I have used it, giving me keywords it says are relevant which are not relevant at all. Even if Google sees these keywords as relevant when you use them in an Adwords campaign (and not just telling you they are relevant here but then give you a less than great quality score when you use them) it doesn’t mean these keywords are money well spent and are the keywords that people are using who are ready to buy. I also fail to see how this “buys you time”. Why? Because these keywords are relevant and it will take longer before an actual human comes by and reviews your ads before bumping up your CPC? If you want to take this sort of shotgun approach to see what hits you can do that if you have the money to spend but if you are more meticulous because you are on a limited budget use your judgment when doing this and don’t just try every keyword you find. Not the method for everyone or every situation. Sorry, I can’t give this video kudos based on the way it is presented and the intention of its purpose.

That’s good stuff. I’ve been using the Keyword Tool for some time now. Of course, when you’re low on time you can just look at the page source of the page you’re visiting. Look through the meta tags and find the keywords. But, some people like to hide theirs in there code and make it hard for competition to find. So, the Keyword Tool comes in handy then.

Was this a tip, or a poorly veiled pitch for his new program? Appreciate the thought, Frank, but allowing Ryan to use your blog to promote a technique that Google will likely eventually catch seems short-sighted and borderline gray-hat.
After all, no biggie to him if some newbie gets burned, guesses wrong as to when Googles catches it, and ends up having to pay 7-10 bucks a click, right? He’s already made his, and gotten a pitch in for his new program. Win/win for him in possibly a losing proposition for others.
What a life!

I agree with Tommy,This is yet again a nice “beginning” of an idea but lacks the the real way to use it. As an example, Ryan says “you can test 50 aff products this weekend” How? Which keywords of the ones Google shows as good ones? How long do you test? All of them? What position?
Can you imagine how much money would be spent if you did even 10 campaigns. And if you did do all the keywords, how many “adgroups” would you do.
This is exactly the kind of info that is exciting and dangerous at the same time.
All of us want to “believe” and find something useful but a piece like this just adds more frustration to the pie.
It seems like the only real answer to to enroll in a mentoring plan and be able to ask questions as you go along. All this “piece meal” stuff just keeps throwing us into confusing circles.
I appreciate so much the effort all in all and love learning. Thank you for your sincere effort.

Great insight, as with anything, this is not the end all be all for keyword research. As previously stated, if google spits back non-action related keywords, then for straight up AFF marketing this may not work, but to use for article marketing and other methods where broadness in keywords can be a bit more firgiving, now there’s a thought….Either way, good stuff!!

Hey Frank,
Do you think I can use the product launch concept for distributing a movie? We are just finishing the movie Vegasland (www.vegaslandmovie.com) and I don’t see anyone selling single movies out there, just a bunch of online stores and netflix and things like that. I was just wondering what your take on it might be?
Wanna sell it for us online? How can we start an affiliate thing with a movie? That might be an untapped market for you to approach indie film makers and teach them how to use google to market their movies, the profit lines seem pretty open when you use the google “sneak attack” trick which got me thinking about this.
I really love your stuff and am learning a boat load from reading and watching. Thanks!

Maybe a good tip to find keywords. But, I don’t think this is the way to set up an adwords campaign. The keywords returned by this tool can be used as a ‘raw’ material to do some further research. Keyword tools are not the way to find the ‘right’ keywords. You have to find those that attract desperate buyers. The only way to do this is doing research, research,…., research…
Setup your campaign according to the keywords you found doping research. And to have a really great quality score you DON’T put in the keywords that this Google keyword tool returns just like that… As mentioned above the same will happen. After your campaign has been reviewed you will see you CPC reach the rooftops!!!…if you use the keywords that you THINK Google ’says’ are relevant enough to use in your campaign, they are not.
As with any Adwords campaign you have to test and track everything to know what works and what doesn’t.

I got slapped for $12.00 per click!!! and you want to know why? The Clickbank product I was promoting was against Google’s Editorial Rules. So, I had to stop using Adwords. Now I have to use different ways to promote it…
EDIT FROM FRANK: If you have an account that’s already been slapped, you’ll need to use this (and all other) methods in a new account. From my experience, it’s almost impossible to de-slap an account that’s *already* been slapped. So the fact that you need to create a new Google Adowrds account is considered a given.
I always just shut down my slapped accounts and open up new ones. (It’s important to actually shut down the slapped account or else you might violate their TOS)

I agree this is a great tool to begin your research with but you MUST do your research to refine your keywords to what people are searching for, not just what Google says. This advice is pretty good.
I am concerned about the Google slap and the fact that Ryan mentions it concerns me. How can you promote something knowing that a slap could come at any time? I would guess for this kind of market research you should open up several adwords accounts in case you are slapped. It is a good tip because it makes you think of what you might not want to do.
Thanks for the tips!

Frank,
We do appreciate all that you do for us. There are a lot of people out there hording information for fear of loss of their money.
Thank you for your information and teaching videos like this one.
http://niche-project.blogspot.com/
I am trying a unique approach to marketing, like the page states, it is truly an experiment. Both for the program and the marketing of “the experiment” which I think is really just a more intense version of the “review” site, but only for a single product.
Although I guess you could do two different products side by side to see what works better.
Anyways, thanks again. And I will be using this to push traffic.

Hi Frank,
This is one good tip. I’m looking forward to
seeing more videos like these.
I’m already full of excitement due to this
hot stuff that Ryan just dished out here.
Sometimes the obvious ones aren’t really
that obvious as we try to make things more
complicated as it really is.
Thats how most of us marketers would tend
to think sometimes… LOL!
Keep rocking!

Great stuff Ryan and Frank…
Short, sweet, and to the point. That’s definitely a really interesting way to
test out new niche markets quickly and see how the traffic and conversions pan out before you get in too deep.
Keep up the amazing content; it really shows people the art of giving away
good, quality content, and let the cash seek you out because of your value.
Thanks brother!

GREAT Point of View!!!
I have used that Google Keyword Tool, But I did not see it from that perspective. I have been so brain washed into thinking that other Keyword Tools where the ones to use (exclusivly)that I could not see that right in my face Google was handing an advantage to me on a silver platter.
Thanks for the Clarity Deiss and posting the Video Kern!

Google keyword tool is totally inaccurate on advertisor competition.
Try the exact phrase in example, find a low or no competition advertising keyword and then go do a search on that term and you will see tons of advertisors. Try it on any terms or words and look for a blank box in advertisor competition and then go check the search to see how many advertisors show up.
Bogus information.
The Google keyword tool has it’s use, but this is not one of them.

Hey Frank & Users,
I’m trying to start up a PPC campaign over here and we were considering using Creative Digital Media (CDM) which was referenced in your blog video. We liked what Matt Trainer had to say, and you as well, however - I’d like to know if anyone in this blog community has used them and gotten results? We just don’t want to make a wrong move. Maybe it has something to do with their ages and responses to our emails making us a little gunshy using them. We can’t find them in any of the SEO and PPC websites and so far the only information I can get on them is through your website and their website.

Yeah Frank, this dude wrote me an email saying if you don’t have the money to spend 1997, then buy the same stuff here for 19.97. So the dude above me is right on.
Good videos and info.
I put up 15 quick clickbank ads using the techniques in this video, and I mean made a sale every other day or so.
This technique works better with products that has a sales page of a billion words plus or else the keywords you will get recommended by google will blow.

Not to be the fly in the ointment but I “discovered” this quite some time back. It does not work as well as proposed. I have used the tool numerous times and still had Google reject their own suggested key words. I have thought each time how bizarre that was. I am sure it works for some sites but again just be aware.

Oh my gosh!!! After watching this video, I just understand more about the fact that there is so much more that needs to be done to make things work! I don’t even think my Web site is 111% complete yet. I still haven’t made my first $! on line. There are so many things out there I need to learn i.e. how to market, promote the business/Web site, gain a list of subscribers, have valuable keywords, have a opt in box where people are going to leave their e mail address, get a continuity program, etc… I am so overwhelmed right now after nine videos. UGH!!! I tried Ed Dale’s 30 day challenge and that didn’t work for me either.
Any ideas about what to do next Frank? Ed just said, keep going and that hasn’t gotten me anywhere.
